Waitemata Rugby Centenary Weekend
We’re putting together a fantastic weekend of celebrations for the Waitemata Rugby Football Club Centenary, starting Friday 4 June 2027. There will be plenty happening across the weekend, with something for everyone.
Friday – Choose Your Adventure
On Friday, you’ll have a choice of three daytime activities, but you’ll need to book in for one of them as numbers will be limited:
Bowls – Epsom Bowling Club
A great social day at the Epsom Bowling Club, with undercover facilities, a BBQ and plenty of opportunity to catch up with old friends. Numbers are limited to 75 people.
Golf – Redwood Golf Club
Dust off the clubs and enjoy a round of golf with fellow Waitemata supporters and old mates. Cost will depend on the number of people taking part.
Fishing – Boat Charter
For those who would rather be out on the water, we’ll be arranging a fishing charter . We’re assuming the fish will be plentiful!
The cost of the golf and fishing activities will depend on numbers.
If there is enough interest, we may also be able to offer an alternative activity on Sunday for those who would like another opportunity to take part.

Friday Night – Mix & Mingle
Friday evening will be all about catching up and getting the celebrations underway.
Come along to the club for a relaxed mix and mingle. Food will be available to purchase and of course the bar will be open throughout the evening. It’s a great chance to catch up with old teammates, friends and supporters.

Saturday – Rugby, Food & Friends
Saturday morning and afternoon will bring the rugby back to centre stage, with two games – Under 20s and Open Grade.
There will also be a special invitational Waitemata team taking on the Barbarians, with the action and celebrations continuing back at the clubhouse from around 2pm.
Throughout the day, there will be lamb on the spit, BBQ food, an open bar and plenty of opportunities to mix and mingle.
Saturday Night – The Centenary Celebration
The big night!
From 6.00pm until midnight, we’ll head to Ellerslie Racecourse for the main Centenary Celebration.
Ticket price is $160 per person.
Because numbers will be limited, we are asking everyone who wants to attend to secure their seat with a $50 non-refundable deposit or you can pay the full amount.

Numbers will be limited, so if you want to be part of the big night, don’t leave it too late.
Sunday – One Last Get-Together
We’ll finish the weekend back at the club with a relaxed Sunday mix and mingle, starting with a late breakfast and continuing through until the early evening.
It will be a chance to wind down, share a few more stories and memories, and enjoy one last catch-up with the people who have been part of the Waitemata Rugby family over the years.

It promises to be a very special weekend celebrating 100 years of Waitemata Rugby, friendship, commitment and community.
